Reformed Thought and Discussion

Welcome to SoliDeoGloria.com!

I have completely re-worked SoliDeoGloria.com by installing the Drupal collaborative media application.  Drupal is a cross between a content management system, a web bulletin board system, and a weblog.

My goal with this site is to turn it into a community for Reformed thought that complements the excellent Reformed blogs, forums, and information websites that already exist. Here, you will be the producers of the site, contributing news and discussion, and making sure that the most interesting and well-written articles remain at the fore of the site and are easily searched and referenced by those looking for information about the Reformed faith. We need you.

If you have visited us before then you can easily recognize that the look and feel of SoliDeoGloria.com has drastically changed. The reason is I have installed a new program called Drupal on the site. I was increasingly limited by the functionality of Wordpress for what I wanted SoliDeoGloria.com to grow into.

I was getting some technical advice from a friend in web design and he mentioned the DailyKos.com site. If you haven’t heard of the site then that’s probably good. It’s a site for left-wing vitriol. Anyhow, the concept of the site is what I intend SoliDeoGloria.com to grow into: a Reformed site for article submission, “blogging”, online books, and quotes. The combination of the media is what makes the Drupal program so powerful. It becomes really a community script where articles are posted from multiple places that all can view in the main area but allows personal users to just blog to diary their thoughts. Interesting articles, blog entries, and/or diary entries can be “voted” to front page status based on the way the program is written to allow members to vote on posted entries.

My intent is to attract Reformed Christians to this site. If you don’t know if you’re “Reformed” or what that means then it does not exclude you from participation. I believe that to be Christian is to be Reformed but, in this day of multiple Christian expressions, it is necessary to distinguish from all other forms. The term Reformed is a good way to distinguish a community of believers who take the whole counsel of God to be rule for both faith and life. If you’re among them then you’re welcome here to participate. All are welcome to join provided they are Christians and attend a Church. Please help me make this a resource that extends the benefit that many of the Reformed forums and blogs on the Internet provide.

This is not meant to supplant but to extend the benefit they provide to the Christian community. If you’re already blogging then please feel free to post your blog entries here and link to your blog. If you partcipate in a forum then take your best thoughts on threads and post them in articles or diary entries. I want this site to grow and be a vehicle to tie in all the diverse resources that exist to edify Christians. If you’re a Reformed Christian then please join and start contributing articles. I also need you to make suggestions as to how the site can be improved.

If you want a feed or section or topic added then please let me know. If you think the content needs to be improved, then contribute more and better content and invite others to participate in the community. Your Humble Servant, Rich Leino Title: *
